Whiskey Ghosts and Zip Line In Louisville Ky

How boring life can be without the trill of excitement and new experiences. Seeking adventure along the highway to Florida, I discovered  three" must sees that appeal to all senses of adventure in Louisville Ky.

Your first stop  should be the Louisville Mega Cave. The man made cave is built under the city and hosts a variety of uses. It also features the only underground zipline in the USA. You gotta do this,  purchase your tickets online only for a discount.  The  Jim Beam Distillery is located south of Louisville.  Take a tour and enjoy the tasting room. If it is Jim Beam related you will find it here. Are you are looking for a unique evening activity? Ghost Hunters and skeptics alike will enjoy an evening at Waverly Hills. Considered to be one of the most haunted places in America.

Everyday we spend here on earth our soul is on loan. Loan to the world to help ,teach, and make earth a better place. . All that we have is  temporary and to be shared with others. Spend your life enjoying it and knowing that the hands of time can't be reversed.

Years ago I discovered the artwork of Susan Seddon Boulet. She passed away in 1997 taking her talent to a higher place. The Art  she left on earth is for us to enjoy.....Her work always inspires my writing and life in many ways.

Haunted Camp Chesterfield?

The focus of this blog is to find unique places people and report on them accurately.  I decided to visit a  place close to home. Camp Chesterfield is a famous "Spiritualist Retreat "located in Indiana. about an hour away from Indianapolis . Camp Chesterfield was founded in 1886 and is the home to the Indiana Association of Spiritualists. Since its inception, it has been plagued with  both praise and  accusations of deception .

My visit there proved to be very interesting and thought provoking. In order to keep an objective opinion, I arrived with my friend and total skeptic Tim. He tends to be very cynical at times and a good resource for this investigation. Upon arriving, the grounds were very peaceful and serene. Parked by the  bookstore and started a tour with camera seeking to find the truth. Not one person came up to greet us or say hello. It appeared to be deserted  during our weekday visit.

We were free to roam the beautiful grounds and take pictures. The church reminds you of a country church you would find in the mountains. The camp has two hotels, both reported to be haunted by the spirits of the camp. The Sunflower  was the first and is no longer in operation. Along the years it feel into bad repair and needs lots of remodeling. The Western is open for visitors at a very low rate. There are many other areas inside the small camp.

Following our photo session,we looked in the bookstore and decided to do one last dive around outer camp. There was a house for sale with  a$12,000 sign in the window. What? Decided to pull in the drive and look around..

This is when the weird part starts...... Upon pulling in  the driveway , a" Grouchy Clairvoyant  " arrived from the house next door. His greeting was "Who are you"? I found out the following..... You must take classes , be involved with the camp for years before being allowed to live there, and be approved by the board of directors. When I asked what qualified one as a " clairvoyant". He responded "classes and outsiders will NOT EVER be a part of their community". It was made very clear that we were not welcome to live here ( not that I wanted to).  His demeanor was that of a pit bull  in attack mode. I would rather live next to Godzilla than this guy.

Why was he so defensive? In 1976 Lamar Keene  confessed to the world in his book The Psychic Mafia about fraud at the camp. He described  what is known today as True Believer Syndrome. True believer Syndrome is  the chief reason for success of mediums and psychics.I will leave the photos to speak for themselves. You decide... Real  or Fake.....

Rear View Mirror Of Life

People say nothing happens without a reason. I guess that's true. Morning dew falls on the grass to keep it refreshed for a new day. Taxi Cabs horns toot and people teeter out for their day in the city. The sun has risen onto the concrete jungle another day. Fresh baked bread and coffee aroma fill the cool air. Here I sit 26 floors above the city, watching rats run though a maze. Rats I say, people to some. Most in search of an ordinary life. The expected nine to five, productive children, the savings account, and vacation photos to share with the neighbors .Comparative, Competitive and unremarkable, they are designing a life. What has made them so willing to exchange risk, complacency or potential for mediocrity?

Passion is defined as... A powerful emotion, such as love, joy, hatred, or anger. Warning, you can't seek passion, passion seeks you. It is the voice inside that says there must be more to life than this. Without it, you struggle to breathe, gasping for life. I often wonder how we get so out of touch with our passion — how we divorce ourselves from our hearts.

Warning. Time is the thief to passion, don't let it steal yours. Your life's passion may be discovered in an instant, or take many long years to uncover. You will know you have it when your heart of hearts tells you, "I don't care what other people think. I know this is what I want to do, and I am going to get started making it happen!  Have you found a passion yet?

Make a date with Passion for Life in 2013

1. Break the Rules!  Eat something new for breakfast. Take a different route to work. Say hello to someone you never speak to. Spend your lunch time differently. Call someone you have not spoken to in a long time. Do something new and change your night time routine. It starts one day at a time.

2. Color your passion. Buy a coloring book and crayons. Yes, this is not rocket science, it allows you to once again explore the world though the eyes of a child. A few pictures, you will feel the stress fall off. Have a color party! Trust me on this one.

3. Time is a gift. Everyone has the same 24. Use one hour to help someone else." What can I do in one hour, I barely have time to get something done for me" Yes, I hear you.  A few Ideas    write a letter to a hero send a card; cook something for your neighbor. Why do we no longer believe in the theory of "its better to give than receive"?

4. Stop moving and be still. When is the last time you noticed a cloud, admired a flower, and looked at nature? Mysteries are all around you... but your to busy to see them. Before you go to bed, take a look at the stars and reflect about life, the challenges you have overcome and achievements you have made.

5. Live and Learn. Start a journal, Take a free class, go to the library, and watch educational TV. Knowledge is power. Expand you mind and you expand your passion. We are the product of what we take in, no more or less. If you don't have knowledge of something, how can you envision it? Fast forward... When it's all over and you're doing a life review... What will you see in your rear view mirror of life?

Black Panthers and Wild Horses

I was born in 1962,  it seems like a very, very long time ago. The 70’s is what  most runaways recall best. These were the years of developing our ideas on the world. I predict the times of the past will be upon us again. It is already starting with the groups protesting certain government principles and the changes back to an organic nature established in the 60’s. Music has and always will be a big part of my life. The first single I ever bought was Angie by the Rolling Stones. Music was different back then... it just was.... The words and sounds spoke of the culture. It had an unpretentious and in your face style. These are two videos will make you recall the past... Enjoy ...

Wild-Grown Hair

Thinking about life today.....

There are times when I feel like the keeper of spaces. Most are full of dreams ,yet many are empty. Time takes its toll on the empty ones and causes them to shrivel into oblivion. Gone to find space in a soul more willing to use them.

Maybe we focus to much on what we have not been. Better at this or that and not giving ourselves credit for all  we have accomplished in life. In some ways feeling like you are  working in a factory line watching cans pass along with the days.

Someday my children will tell stories of a grandma with wild-grown  hair who left a trail of unfinished projects. One who watched the morning light expand through windows glowing across the floor. Her artwork unfinshed hangs on the wall telling only half the story. She wore mismatched socks and sat watching the moon. At ninty one she smiled from the doorway, trying to recall who you were. She remembered.

Meeting Chris Trotter Master Wood Carver -Brown County

I want to share the unique spots and people on the road. Decided to make a trip to one of my favorite places to escape.Tucked away in the "hills " of Indiana, is Brown County. Known as being  the "little arts center " of the Midwest, it is both  peaceful and charming.  My visits are always a little different, travel the zip line, shopping, or just admire the art.

One Artist  has always caught my attention and in awe of his talent. On this trip I was determined to meet the maker of these wood carvings. Snooping around the shop Wooden Wonders, I noticed a handsome man  carving a tree with a chainsaw. As I walk closer, notice his piercing  eyes, My first thought, what do those eyes see in a tree, how can someone do this? He brings the trees back to life in a way they would appreciate.

I walked up and was greeted with a smile. His name is Chris Trotter. He owns Wooden Wonders Chainsaw Carving. Chris started wood carving by hand many years ago. When the economy took a downturn, his job as a commercial Carpenter ended. He picked up a chainsaw and the rest is history. Having an artistic background in this family, it was natural to have vision and create concepts into being.

People call to have an old tree in front of the house designed, benches. One of the most amazing thins in his shop, custom designed carving based on family photos. , you name it, he can make do the job.
He is amazing and I felt blessed to meet him. Chris can be reached at 317-384-4091.

Stuffing A Honda Accord With Life

I  want to ran away from life, live life in a  white box of sorts and add color. It’s true, travel and get a chance to complete my bucket list one day at a time. Meet unique people and blog on it. Must give up all security, if you want to call it that, of a "normal" life... Crazy?  You know the one; treading water and watching the clock. I have  bailed big time and taking advantage of the one chance to do it. Starting this adventure on the road has given me a new lease on life and shown me things that blind eyes need to see.

Prepping for launch day of "Hello Adventure "and fast food!  Packing has been a chore, everything in the house must fit into a Honda Accord, talk about downsizing.  This has been hard, think about it for a minute...what would you keep? Living along the hurricane panhandle has made it easier. You know what? It is just stuff!  Goodwill, friends and tossing things like crazy has become the daily norm.

Made this blog to share the trip. There are a lot of bored and dreaming souls, yes, you know who you are. Visions of freedom appear outside of your window. What if? If you could run, where would you go what would you do?

Join the Midlife runaway movement….its going to be fun. ..Let’s do it together…

Time to Run Again

The blog has set empty in words but life  kept on ticking. Found it strange to look back at these posts. It feels like a another world  but very close. Decided to pick the story up and move on life's journey. Here is a quick update, Time went like this.... Moved twice, bells palsy, changed jobs, fell in and out of love( with myself of course) ,ate cupcakes, designed faces, wrote a book, hunted ghosts, sprained a few things, and decided to move to Florida. This is where the story gets good. I have decided to take up my origional blog and go with it.... What will life find? Only time will tell...
